Wind Energy: Mount Frank Roy

- BC Peace Region. 45km West of Chetwynd.
- Site Description
- This site comprises Mt. Frank Roy, which is a series of ridges running north to south. The average elevation of the ridge is approximately 1800m. The mean wind speed across the site at a hub height of 65m is expected to range between 9.0 m/s and 10.0 m/s.
- Permit Status
- Granted Investigative Use Permit (IUP) with Integrated Land Management Bureau (ILMB), British Columbia Ministry of Agriculture and Lands. Granted License of Occupation with ILMB. Plans underway to erect meteorological towers for wind resource measurement.

- 50-100MW
- Project Overview
- Finavera Renewables is focusing its initial efforts in British Columbia on the Peace Region. The wind resource in this area is strong, and the potential for wind power projects is substantial. Several project sites are being developed simultaneously, with the permitting and planning process ongoing. Finavera Renewables is focusing several projects for inclusion in the 2007 BC Hydro call for power.
