The public consultation is now in full swing for our wind projects in British Columbia, Canada. We spent the last two weeks in northern British Columbia talking to residents, businesses, and First Nations about our plans to enter four wind projects in the provincial Environmental Assessment process. What a great part of the province! Winter was long gone, it was sunny and warm, and the cookies were good too.
This trip was far less stressful that my last trip to the Peace Region. I managed to lose control of the rental truck and ended up in a snow-filled ditch. But thanks to the generosity of several local residents, I managed to make all of my appointments. Thanks for the help guys!
We set up open houses in Chetwynd and Tumbler Ridge so people could see for themselves what we are planning. There were maps and fact sheets and public comment forms for people to provide input. And we received quite a bit of feedback, mostly questions about turbine locations, visual impacts, environmental impacts, and sound. We entered this public consultation process as early as possible so residents fully understand what we are proposing, and can provide input as we move forward. As a company, we are committed to the consultation process, and it was good meet the residents and tell them that in person.
