BC Hydro  

Major electric utility corporation BC Hydro awarded Finavera with a 25-year Electricity Purchase Agreement under its 2008 Clean Power Call. With the agreement, Finavera will develop four wind projects in the BC Peace Region that will provide up to 302 megawatts (MW) of power combined. The agreements will provide a steady revenue stream for Finavera. 

GE Energy  

Finavera has signed a $7.5 million Joint Development Agreement with GE Energy for the BC Wind Projects, which provides funding stability. Additionally, GE Energy has co-developed numerous wind projects, totaling thousands of megawatts for wind projects in North America. The strategic partnership will help to deliver the projects on time and on budget with a high return on investment, while Finavera’s equity stake in each project will not be impacted. GE Energy is Finavera’s preferred wind turbine supplier

Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE)

Finavera signed an agreement with SSE Renewables (Ireland) Limited, the Republic of Ireland renewables development division of Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE), to sell a majority interest in its Gate Three grid connection of its Cloosh Valley Wind project for €8.4 million.

Coillte

Finavera signed an agreement with Coillte, Ireland forestry board, to co-develop the Cloosh Valley Wind Project. Coillte’s core purpose is to enrich lives locally, nationally and globally through innovative and sustainable management of natural resources. Coillte is a commercial company operating in forestry, land based businesses, renewable energy and panel products.

GENIVAR is Finavera’s Owner’s Engineer for our four British Columbia wind projects and has been a long term partner to our Company.  A Canadian leader in consulting engineering, GENIVAR has more than 4,500 employees and 50 years of experience. GENIVAR has a presence in more than 85 cities in Canada and the Caribbean with projects in more than 35 countries.

 

TECO Natural Resource Group

TECO is working with Finavera on the environmental assessment process for our four British Columbia wind project. TECO is an international environmental management consulting and professional service firm dedicated to balancing the social, economic, and environmental outcomes of your project. For 40 years as Timberline Natural Resource Group, our 150 industry leading professionals have delivered complete end-to-end solutions for clients engaged in the build out of new projects.

 

Halfway River First Nation

The Halfway River First Nation is a Dane-zaa/Beaver community of 227 members located in the Peace River area of northeastern British Columbia, north of Fort St. John. The Halfway River First Nation is involved in gravel excavation and sales. Members mainly work in manufacturing/construction, sales and service, primary industry and the agriculture/resource based industry. The Band continues to practice traditional activities and has hunting camps throughout their traditional territory.

Finavera Wind Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with the Halfway River First Nation (“Halfway”) for the development of the Company’s four wind projects in the Peace Region of British Columbia. The MOU establishes the processes and sharing of benefits that will ensure an ongoing positive relationship with the Halfway River First Nation.
