We are dedicated to protecting and enhancing the surrounding physical and social environments, which is why Finavera is passionate about developing sustainable wind projects that will produce clean energy. More than four years of research at each project site has been conducted to ensure minimal environmental footprints and to help guarantee a clean, sustainable future for generations to come. To date, we have coordinated many studies and have undergone an extensive process of gathering the appropriate research for the environmental assessment (EA) in British Columbia.

The EA is a comprehensive process that helps to predict any environmental effects of the proposed projects prior to beginning construction. With the assessment, we then have the opportunity to eliminate or reduce any potential environmental impacts. While wind farms use the boundless natural wind resources to deliver energy to transmission lines, there is no waste, air pollution, or greenhouse gases that are produced. In fact, wind energy can contribute to preventing further climate change and wind farms are one of the most environmentally friendly energy initiatives in the world.

Finavera has submitted two environmental assessments to date:

Tumbler Ridge Wind Energy Project Environmental Assessment

Wildmare Wind Energy Project Environmental Assessment
